The Cat in the Rafters is a restaurant in San Francisco, owned by Jason Thomas. Jason and his staff are Cait Sidhe and members of the Court of Dreaming Cats. It is known for having good steaks.
Many of the staff barely tolerate October Daye because her steak orders have to be well done bordering on charcoal due to her magic reacting to the blood of rare steaks.
It has both a main room and a private dining room. The private room is "dimly lit, wood-paneled ... with stained glass windows. The glass was patterned with cats, which I appreciated; black cats, gray cats, tabby cats, and calicos, their green, gold, and blue eyes fixed on the tables inside."[1]
