October Daye[]

Connor dated Toby when they were both teens, but his family disapproved of a "mixed" relationship with a changeling. He still holds feelings for her, however, and tries to rekindle their relationship when she returns from the pond even though he is married to Rayseline. He stands by Toby in her misadventures, always ready to be emotional and strategic support.[6] Toby lets herself give in and they kiss during times of mortal peril[7][8] but do not start a romantic relationship until after Connor's marriage to Rayseline is annulled. Luidaeg[]

The Luidaeg is more than a legend to Connor; she is a very real, very dangerous presence. He is intimidated at the idea of visiting her with Toby, fears which are validated when she snarls and snaps at him. It has nothing to do with him personally; the Luidaeg despises all Selkies even as she treasures their role in keeping the seal-pelts alive.[9]

Tybalt[]

Connor and Tybalt have a low-key rivalry for Toby's affections, although she seems oblivious to it. When Tybalt appears on Toby's doorstep after disappearing for a month, Connor moves to stand, protective and tense, behind her.[9] Connor has a similar reaction when he meets Alex Olsen.[7]

The Ryan Clan[]

Although he never interacts with his clan on-page, Elizabeth and Diva are both upset when the Luidaeg brings them his pelt and news of his death. They posthumously accept Toby as his "sweetheart" although the clan discouraged them from dating when they were younger.[6][9]

Patrick and Dianda Lorden[]

Connor's liege lords and rulers of Saltmist. When war looms between Saltmist and the Kingdom of the Mists, Connor is forced to follow his loyalties to Undersea over his personal desires to stay with Toby and his friends on land. He shuttles back and forth between the two kingdoms as messenger, and escorts Toby when she visits the Lordens for political meetings. Before he dies, he plans to ask them to be released from his vow of fealty so his loyalties can be entirely tied to Toby.
