Jonathan Daye is October Daye's father, and the husband of Amandine (then known as Natasha).[1] He was an Irish accountant[2] who married Amandine in 1951 after dating her for three months.[3] He believed he lost his family in the fire resulting from Toby's Changeling's Choice. He is buried next to Amandine and Toby's apparent bodies.[1] Toby visits his grave and leaves roses every Christmas.[4]

Jonathan is described as being tall and thick-waisted with bright blue eyes and broad shoulders. He was pale-skinned and had freckles. He had bad knees which Toby has inherited from him.[5]
